User Administration Dashboard

Administrating and understanding your developer community is an important aspect of managing a successful API Program. We've completely redesigned the Administration Dashboard to allow easier administration, improve visibility into who has keys and what applications they have built, and navigate around your developer community.  Feature improvements include:

  • Improved Look and Feel
  • Ability to create users via the Dashboard
  • Advanced Search: allows searching of a larger number of attributes of users and it's faster too!
  • Filters:
    • Filter by role with custom roles coming soon!
    • Filter by status so you can find developers that have yet to confirm their accounts for example
  • Customize Views:
    • Customize columns so you can see the information you wish to rather than just what we thought was important
    • Sort by columns
  • Mass Updates: ability to multi-select many users and perform an action such as assign them to a Role or disable them
  • Quick Developer Chart: view a developer's key level chart direct from within the user administration pages

Keys Page Feature Improvement Highlights:

  • Filters:
    • Find keys by the API they are associated to
    • Find keys by their status
  • Customize Views:
    • Customize columns to see the information you wish to view
    • Sort by columns
  • Mass Edit: ability to multi-select keys and perform an action such as disable or delete

Application Page Feature Improvement Highlights:

  • Application object now more prominent in the system for clients that want visibility into what is being built using their API
  • Advanced Search: find applications by many properties of the Application
  • Customize Views:
    • Customize columns so can see the information you wish to view
    • Sort by columns
  • Filters:
    • Find Applications by that use a specific API
  • Mass Edit: ability to multi-select Applications and perform an action such as disable or delete
  • Create and Edit Applications: you may now create application content for your developers or edit Applications for your own tracking and reporting ability

New Notifications

Many administrators wish to be notified when new users join their developer community, create keys, and create applications. Previously, an administrator would add their email address to the BCC address of the user emails triggered by these events. With this release, you may get an administration-focused email instead, with convenient links in the email to quickly find the relevant screen in the Dashboard to review the specifics online.

Developer Registration Feature Improvements

Getting your developers registered and with keys painlessly is crucial. As we all know, developers sometimes have very low tolerance for cumbersome forms. This release provides lots of options on how to configure the registration workflow and forms.

  • “My Account” Feature Redesign:
    • Significantly improved look to the “My Account” area for your developers
    • Simplified process to request additional keys
    • Visibility into Rate and Throttle Limits
  • New Enhanced Registration Workflow Configurability:
    • New single form registration flow to register developer accounts and assign their keys
    • Ability to turn off the application registration process
    • Ability to quickly customize the information requested during registration
    • Forms may be customized by our support team, either adding or removing fields to tailor the registration experience to your needs… simply and immediately without development time
  • New Multi Keys per API Capability:
    • The constraint of allowing one key per API defined has been removed
    • Configurable number of keys allowed per API as well as how many you will allow before key approval is required
  • Terms of Service:
    • Ability to have a user registration terms of service requirement
  • Improved Login Page
